These are multiple links to state government listings, freenets, and local bulletin boards (BBS) which could provide information on jobs in a specific area.

CITY ET

CityNet has listings of information and links to servers in over 113 countries. This is a great way to research locations you are considering moving to or places where you have been offered employment. You can also use these to help find information such as a state flower or the flag of a country.

Academe This Week

This site has postings in academia and related fields from the Chronicle of Higher Education. This compilation of educational and administrative positions is not easily available elsewhere. Search can be done by field or geographic region.

Adams Job Bank

Icon-driven launchpads for exploring job postings in different fields. One big downside, however: there is no way to select by geographic location.

America's Job Bank

This is a service brought to you by the U.S. Department of Labor. It has a lot more job postings than all the other sites combined -- in the United States. And government bureaucracy is at work here: users can only search on one category at a time, based on government job-code number ... so it only works well if you know the exact job code.

Career Magazine

Updated daily, this site lets you search on multiple locations and multiple skills. This side is adequate if you don't mind weeding through a lot of inappropriate hits.

Career Mosaic J.O.B.S.

Job Opportunities By Search. Very flexible front-end form allowing searches on a variety of criteria. Search results are presented in a single line index format with links to detailed job descriptions. Listings are sorted by date posted, making it easy to focus on the latest additions.

E-SPAN

This site is for the serious and frequent job seeker. Users may enter and save a job-search profile, including salary range, and then execute or modify the search each time you visit. The registration is free and confidential.

Helpwanted.com

This site's slogan boasts, "It's where the jobs are". However, you may just want to visit this site again in a few months after they've collected more postings.

Job Center

At this site, you can choose an option to have job listings that match your resume automatically e-mailed to you as they become available.

MedSearch America

You will find here a comprehensive listing of job offerings in the medical fields. You can search by job category, title, and location.

Monster Board

As the name says, this site's database is huge and is growing rapidly. Over 1,200 listings are added every week. Lots of graphics here, so you may want to stick to text only.

Online Career Center

At this site you can search by state, city, or industry, but not a combination of these.

Usenet Jobs Offered

This site is related to "Career Mosaic J.O.B.S." and serves as the electronic Reader's Digest of the job-search world. Indexed job postings from selected regional, national and industry-specific newsgroups, which eliminates the need to access and subscribe to each one individually. Slow and sometimes hard to read, it's worth the effort for the vast content.
