Demo for CD: A Country by Consent - A high-tech Canadian history available on CD has audio-visual lessons ranging from the founding of New France in 1663 to the Patriation of the Constitution in 1982. The price of the CD is too steep for individuals like you and I ($499 for school site licence, or $130 for a home licence), but this demo site will give you an idea of whether you'd benefit from purchasing it....

Julia Hayden's Ancient World Web - This site has pointers to the most recent historical discoveries as well as indexes to other Internet sources. Look up by region or subject matter, but you may want to browse the huge Index. Check out Mythology, but don't be mistaken -- there is plenty of "pure" history here to keep even the most avid historian busy...

ABZU - Charles E. Jones maintains this site with links to other sites about Egypt and Mesopotamia. You will also find a big list of Internet archaeological information and links to museum collections....
