March Member Event We had good feedback from the recent AGM at Algonquin College when we screened "Outfoxed" after the formal meeting, so we're showing it again for those who might not have been able to attend the AGM. The occasion is the kick-off of a three-week long spring membership drive for the National Capital Chapter. What: An information meeting for prospective and current members plus a screening of the documentary "Outfoxed". When: Saturday, March 19, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. Where: National Press Club, 150 Wellington Street, second floor, across from the West Block of Parliament. We'll met in a relaxed atmosphere with beverages and snacks available at cost. Who: All journalists, journalism teachers, students and others who are interested in finding out more about the CAJ. Current members are invited to attend and bring along non-members as guests. OUTFOXED Released last summer, the documentary Outfoxed examines how media empires, led by Rupert Murdoch's Fox News, have been running what many see as a "race to the bottom" in television news. This film provides an in-depth look at Fox News and the impact on society when a broad swath of media is controlled by one person. This documentary also reveals the secrets of Former Fox news producers, reporters, bookers and writers who expose what it's like to work for Fox News and talk about how they were forced to push a "right-wing" point of view or risk their jobs. For more on Outfoxed, see www.outfoxed.org. Brochure:
