    JEANETTE MARIE MATTHEY (1956-1993)

Seven years ago, Jeanette Matthey, a CBC radio reporter in Canada, Moscow and London, died. She was diagnosed with breast cancer, and in spite of undergoing a mastectomy, chemotherapy and radiation therapy (included removing and treating her bone marrow), the cancer claimed Jeannette's life.

Attendees were invited to mark Jeannette's memory and contribute to the fight against breast cancer. The evening was also in honour of Josie Anselmo, the daughter of the banquet hall owners, who lost her life to a drunk driver in 1992.

Proceeds from the event went to the Saunders-Matthey Foundation for Breast Cancer Research and CHEO.
