Mailing Lists for Journalists and Broadcasters

Mailing lists are often the best way to find useful information on the net. Because you have to take the trouble to subscribe to them, they are a little more work than just selecting and browsing a newsgroup. And because they require a bit of effort, and because they are sometimes moderated, the casual commentator with an off-topic comment is less likely to be heard.

Still a Growing Area

Although the Internet seems to have captured much media and public attention recently, the number of professionals in journalism and broadcasting who are seriously involved in using the Net as part of their array of daily tools is still fairly small, as can be seen from the numbers of world-wide subscribers to these lists in mid-May 1995:
