- Allan Gregg, this year's Kesterton Lecturer, addressed issues of citizen engagement or disengagement from the political process, and the media's role therein.
- A transcript of his remarks is available online.
- Mr. Gregg is described by lecture organizers as a "pollster, commentator, journalist,
businessman, music impresario, and all-round very smart guy."
- The publisher of the Globe and Mail, Phillip Crawley, attended.
- A reception followed across the street at the National Press Club.
