Internet Sources for CBC Journalists Old CBC Logo
This is an early version of our home page. As I was still learning HTML at the time (Spring, 1995), James Hrynyshyn took my outline, written in Word, converted it to HTML, and added graphics and layout. Since then, I've been toying with the site on a regular basis, for better or worse.

WWW Resources
for CBC Journalists and Broadcasters

Of the millions of Web sites now online, here are a few that should be of particular interest to broadcasters and journalists in Canada.

These web pages were designed for use by broadcasters and journalists at the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, specifically those working at CBC Radio in Ottawa. They cover news, current events, music, art, culture and science from a Canadian perspective.
This site also contains a large number of links to Internet search tools as well as to Canadian and other journalism sites plus lists of Canadian print media online and various broadcast sources.

A note from the author

I've visited most of the sites listed here in the past few months, but the world of the Web is built upon shifting sands and there's no guarantee any URL is permanent.
This site began as part of a project designed primarily to help journalists and broadcasters at CBO Radio in Ottawa (part of the CBC Radio Network) make better use of the Internet in their work. The particular choice of URLs selected reflects a local and regional bias to some extent, but I've tried to include a lot of material of broader interest as well, particularly in the area of journalistic links and Internet search tools. I've tried to make the latter as complete as possible so that you can easily find up-to-date material with which to make up your own lists. {:-)
